1. Choose a leadership quote and in a short paragraph explain how it applies to your “style” of leadership and why.

“Don’t waste your energy trying to educate or change opinions; go over, under, through, and opinions will change organically when you’re the boss. Or they won’t. Who cares? Do your thing, and don’t care if they like it” -Tina Fey

I think that this quote applies to my “style” because I always make an effort to respect other people’s opinions rather than disregard them. I definitely agree that opinions will change organically and I think that is because when you persuade people and change their minds, they will be more open to your ideas.

I also agree with not putting too much attention into caring what people think because at the end of the day; the only thing that matters it your opinion of yourself and how you feel about yourself. So if they don’t agree with you and your opinions, that’s ok because you believe them and that’s all that matters.

2. As a student council member, what important goals would you have for Student Council? For Archer?

My goals for Student Council is to be more connected with each other so that we’re a very close group of people and to make our role in our community more existent so that we not only benefit Archer, but reach out to other schools to further benefit them.

My goals for Archer are: to create a more enthusiastic and inclusive space for people to feel more comfortable and included at school; create even more school spirit so that everyone at school are excited for everyday and always want to participate in every activity possible; and I also want to help people become more confident with themselves so that we have a confident, unique student body.

3. What are your plans for increasing school spirit and student participation at Archer?

I want to make everyone comfortable with being in their own skin so that they fully commit to be included in school activities.  I also want to make more fun and interesting activities for people to be a part of so that they have more enthusiasm and want to participate in the activities.

4. What role(s) do you think Student Council should play at archer? Is Student Council currently fulfilling that role? If not, what changes do you propose to make it happen?

I think that Student Council should play as a way for the student body to voice their opinions and to have their voices heard. I think that currently we are fulfilling that role, but we can still improve because I want Student Council to be a group of people that the rest of the students are more than comfortable with talking to and giving constructive criticism and feedback. I propose that we get the rest of the community even more involved in Student Council’s main decisions so that they truly feel heard.

5. Why do you want to be on Student Council, really?

I want to be on Student Council because I think that it is a good place for people to have a bigger voice in the community and to contribute to the improvement of the school. Personally, I think that Student Council has been a great place for me to grow as a person, speaker, and leader.

I have learned how to work together and successfully with other people and I have also learned how to be confident and comfortable to speak in front of a large group of people.
