Varsity Cross country came in third place at their meet on Sept. 2 at the Brentwood School. Since then, they have had two other meets, one at Johnny Carson Park and one hosted by the Holy Martyrs at Woodley Park.

They have only four more meets of the season, seven in total.

“Our first meet was awesome! We raced at Brentwood and got 3rd place,” Mathis said. “We have a pretty new team this year with a couple returners from last year. This group of girls [is] hard working and determined. They strive to be great and every meet I see drastic changes in their times. They are enthusiastic and they want to be better.”

Their next upcoming meet is on Oct. 22 against New Community Jewish at Brandeis Bardin Campus.
